Hey there! My name is Kamron, I'm a 91’ baby from Calgary. Moved to Regina when I was 10 where I spent the next 8 years. As soon as I graduated I started planning my escape. I spent a solid 5 years travelling on and off, working countless odd jobs. Between trips I worked as a carpenter, gaining experience in every aspect of home construction and renovation. I was fortunate enough to make it to 13 countries. Eventually I got tired of living out of a bag and yearned for roots. Mostly I missed the ability to bring to life all the things that had been rattling around in my mind. I spent 5 years working as a finishing carpenter, accumulating tools, while transitioning from acrylic painting to wood burning, to carving. It was actually a very close friend of mine who gifted me my first set of chisels 5 years ago. As soon as I started carving, I was hooked. Nowadays I'm based out of Regina, Sk and spend most of my time carving sculptural works by hand, power carving antler, and chainsaw carving. I still dabble in traditional woodwork, but it often gets put on the backburner. My daughter recently turned 5, she’s my everything, super smart, active and majorly addicted to fetch.. Her name is Ruka, a red Border Collie. Any remaining moments in my life are filled with guitar, biking, hiking, and enjoying the company of friends and family. I just want to say a big thank you to all of those who’ve joined along on my journey and to those who’ve supported my abstract dreams from the beginning. So grateful for all of you.
Art is my religion, not just a practice but a way of life. A deep appreciation and reflection of my surroundings. In my attempt to turn, thoughts, ideas, sights, or feelings into something physical I find a place of meditation. Through these moments of divine concentration I find a deeper connection to myself, and in turn, to all that surrounds me.
